Lanzarote

Thanks to its many beaches, this is a popular holiday destination all year round. As temperatures can reach 21 degrees in winter, this Spanish island is also the ideal getaway in the colder months. Soak up the sun or take part in activities from diving to surfing. There’s something for everyone here, from waterparks to local vineyards and dolphin-watching boat tours. Lanzarote is known for its nightlife with many excellent restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs to visit. The landscape and characterful buildings have inspired many artists which is why Lanzarote is well served for art galleries.

Arrecife, the capital, features the San Ginés lagoon, surrounded by restaurants from where you can sit and watch the small boats. Situated on the eastern coast of the island, there is a treasure trove of historic architecture to be found around this beautiful port city, while the museums and historic buildings never fail to draw the history-buffs away from the beautiful beaches…at least for a while.
